Pursuing Connections Counseling PLLC
Relationships are where we often feel our deepest joys and our deepest wounds. When emotional connection breaks down, even small moments can feel loaded, tense, or lonely. Whether you’re navigating betrayal, frequent conflict, or simply feel like something’s missing, couples therapy can help you reconnect and find your way forward.
I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples understand the emotional patterns that keep them stuck and support them in creating a safer, more secure bond. This approach is grounded in attachment theory and supported by decades of research. I also draw from experiential and person-centered modalities to meet each couple’s unique needs and goals.
Whether you’re healing from infidelity, emotional withdrawal, or a rupture in trust, I provide a calm and compassionate space for repair. Through honest conversations and guided emotional work, I help couples rebuild safety, connection and the ability to turn toward one another again.
If you’re stuck in the same arguments or one of you tends to shut down or withdraw, you may be caught in a reactive cycle that leaves both of you feeling unheard or misunderstood. I help couples slow down these patterns, get underneath the surface tension, and learn to speak and listen in ways that build connection rather than disconnection.
Many couples feel more like roommates than partners: present but emotionally distant. I help partners identify the attachment needs beneath the disconnection so you can rebuild emotional intimacy and feel truly known, valued, and emotionally supported.
Whether you’re in a newer relationship, navigating stress, or have been together for years and feel the closeness fading, I support couples in deepening their emotional and physical connection. You’ll learn how to express vulnerability, ask for what you need, and feel safe showing up more fully in your relationship.
Major life changes such as parenting, relocation, career shifts, and empty nesting can strain even the strongest relationships. Therapy can help you reconnect during times of stress and realign around shared meaning, needs, and goals.
Some couples experience enmeshment or over-functioning on one side and withdrawal on the other. I help partners recognize and shift these imbalanced dynamics so both individuals feel respected, empowered, and supported within the relationship.
Sometimes the pain in a relationship isn’t just about the present. It is often tied to earlier experiences of abandonment, betrayal, or emotional harm. I create space for both partners to feel safe exploring and understanding these deeper layers, and to respond to each other with empathy, not reactivity.
Therapy isn’t just about fixing what’s broken. It’s also about growing stronger together. I work with couples who want to be more intentional, more emotionally aware, and more aligned in their relationship journey. Whether you’re preparing for marriage or recommitting after years together, this work can deepen your bond in lasting ways.
No matter what brings you in, couples therapy can help you shift from disconnection and frustration to clarity, closeness, and emotional safety. I’ll be alongside you each step of the way, helping you find your way back to one another with care, insight, and a map for change.
